Extensions questions

Do I need planning permission for a house extension?+

Many single-storey rear extensions fall under permitted development, but it depends on the size, your property and whether you're in a conservation area. We assess this for you and handle any applications needed.

How long does an extension take to build?+

A typical single-storey rear extension takes around 10 to 16 weeks on site, depending on size and complexity. We give you a clear programme before we start and keep you updated throughout.

Will I be able to stay in the house during the work?+

In most cases yes. We seal off the work area, keep the site tidy and plan around keeping your kitchen or key rooms usable for as long as possible.

Can you help with the design and drawings?+

Yes. We work with trusted architects and structural engineers and manage the whole process from first sketch to building control sign-off.
